UMass Lowell Orchestra: Requiem, K. 626
The greater Lowell community presents Mozart's Requiem live from Durgin Hall on April 26, 2019. Made possible by the following groups, their directors, and the wonderful soloists:
Jennifer Sgroe, Brianne Biastoff, Michael Gonzalez, Mark A. Cleveland,
UML Orchestra (Mark Latham)
UML University Choir and Chamber singers (Johnathan Richter)
UML Coral Union and Nashua High School North Concert Choir (Brianne Biastoff)
Recording by Luke Fagan with assistance from Dominic DiPalermo.
The Main array for this recording was an ORTF pair of Neumann AK40 and a spaced pair of Schopes CMC6 with MK2S capsules. Four Neumann KM183 were spaced in an SATB style just overhead of the choir. A similar spacing was used to capture the orchestra since it was important to keep a low profile and stage space was very limited. Two Schopes MK21 were placed on either side of the conductor, and two DPA 4006 were placed on either side of the orchestra at the edge of the stage. Another spaced pair of DPA 4006 were placed at the back of the hall.
